Elita's team fares no better as they await her signal, they are attacked by invisible assailants. Unfortunately, Shockwave has harvested energon for his own strength and eventually overwhelms Elita after a brief battle, rendering her unconscious. Smirking, she kicks Shockwave in the eye for falling for a simple deception, damaging his cloaking system. However, the Predacons are in control of the Golden Disk, a mysterious artifact which has a personal connection to Megatron and gives him an untold advantage over his enemy, Optimus Prime.Seeking cover, Elita arms the detonation charges, but is waylaid by Shockwave, who demands she call off her Guardian attack. Now in the Final arc, the Autobots must team up with the Maximals to confront the Decepticons, who have joined forces with the Predacons, in the race to find the missing AllSpark. Meanwhile, lost in the darkest reaches of space, Optimus Prime and his team embark on a desperate mission that will push them to the breaking point as they travel to uncharted new worlds to face spacefaring mercenaries, enigmatic figures from long ago and even their own creators…the Quintessons.
The WAR FOR CYBERTRON continues with the second chapter, EARTHRISE! With the Allspark gone, Megatron is forced to confront the harsh reality that his Decepticons are trapped on a dying Cybertron while also fighting off the persistent threat of Elita-1 and her Autobots.
